WILDFIRE EMERGENCY RELIEF
Support communities affected by the Ontario wildfires.
Item 1: Fire Extinguishing Unit ($250, one-time)
- Description: In Northwestern Ontario, fire has reached communities the fire trucks can't. Muslim Welfare Canada and GlobalMedic are putting fire-extinguishing units on the ground: a 1,000-litre tank, pump and hose that four people can lift, turning a local's pickup into a fire truck for terrain the big engines can't reach. Your $250 helps put one of these units in the field, where it stays to defend the community through the next fire season. Give people the tools to fight back.
Item 2: Family Hygiene Kit ($35, one-time)
- Description: Families in Ontario's north fled the fire with almost nothing, and are now sheltering hundreds of kilometres from home. A $35 hygiene kit packs the basics of dignity: soap, a towel, a toothbrush and sanitary supplies, so a family on a shelter cot can stay clean, healthy and whole. Muslim Welfare Canada and GlobalMedic are packing and delivering these kits now. Give a family their dignity back.
Item 3: Child's Backpack ($25, one-time)
- Description: School starts in September, and children displaced by the wildfires are living in hotels and shelters far from their classrooms. For $25, Muslim Welfare Canada fills a backpack with the supplies a child needs to walk into a new school ready, not left behind. A small bag, packed with a little normalcy, for a child whose year has been anything but. Help a displaced child start the year with dignity.
